Kat Jackson Studio
The cycle of my work is really similar to the ebb and flow of daily life. We make messes, we tidy them up. We choose what to share and what to conceal. We add to the fabric of others’ lives but we also take something for ourselves. We create layer after layer of texture and color only to scratch away at areas to show the nuances of who we are.
The process is as beautiful as the finished artifact, the messiness an important counterbalance to the refinement.
The messier,
the better.
Every canvas carries a little of the same push and pull as the life it came from — built up, worn back, never quite finished.
